Good private event booking

Eatwith's chef-led workshop was great, but I wish booking private events was easier than Viator.

Fantastic Tapas Tour in Seville!

Compared to some other tour sites like GetYourGuide, Eatwith offers a much more intimate and authentic experience. We booked a tapas tour in Seville and it was absolutely brilliant – our host was so knowledgeable and took us to places we'd never have found otherwise. Applying the promo code was straightforward at checkout, and I appreciate that they handle cancellations well, offering a full refund if a host cancels. The whole process felt really personal and high-quality.

Good value for a new experience

I was looking for something different to do and stumbled upon Eatwith. Decided to try a dessert tasting since it seemed like a good price for what was offered. I paid about $60, which felt fair for a few hours of tasting and learning. The booking process was simple enough. The actual experience was nice, good quality desserts and a friendly host. I thought it was pretty good value for money, especially compared to what similar things cost elsewhere. Happy with my first purchase.

Great brunch experience

I booked a brunch experience for my partner and me. The process was straightforward, I found the perfect host in Paris. Communication with the host was easy through the platform. We received a confirmation email right away. The brunch itself was fantastic, really fresh ingredients and a welcoming atmosphere at their home. The directions to the location were clear. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. I'd definitely use Eatwith again for unique food events.

Fun night out

So, my friends and I did a cocktail masterclass with Eatwith last weekend. It was actually a lot of fun. The host was cool and showed us how to make some really fancy drinks. We laughed a lot and got to try everything we made. Way better than just going to a regular bar. Pretty good time all around.

Always a reliable choice

This was my third time using Eatwith, and as usual, it was a great experience. I booked a traditional home-cooked meal in Rome this time, and it was just as good as the pasta making workshop I did last year. Their hosts are consistently good, very welcoming, and the food is always authentic. I keep coming back because I know I'll get a unique experience every time without any hassle. It's my go-to for food experiences when I travel.

Mixed feelings on a food tour

I recently took a street food tour through Eatwith. On the positive side, the local guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the food history, which was great. We tried some genuinely delicious local dishes I wouldn't have found otherwise. However, the group size was a bit larger than I expected, making it hard to hear the guide sometimes, especially in crowded market areas. Also, the meeting point instructions could have been clearer; I had to call the host to confirm. Overall, it was a good experience for the food, but the logistics could use a little refinement.

Loved my cooking class!

I had such an amazing time at the sushi making class! The host was super friendly and taught us so much. Everything was so well organized, and the sushi we made tasted incredible. I'm already planning my next booking. Definitely recommending Eatwith to all my friends!

Anyone done one of these compared to, say, an Airbnb Experience? Wondering if Eatwith is better for actual food stuff or if it's kinda the same vibe.

D David 1 month ago
I think Eatwith is way more focused on the food and the host's actual cooking skills. Airbnb can be more hit or miss, sometimes it's just a 'local showing you around' with food as an afterthought. Eatwith feels more curated for foodies.

Definitely more food-centric. Did a tapas tour on Eatwith and it was all about the specific dishes and ingredients. Airbnb's food tours felt a bit more generic to me.

Quick question about discounts. I saw something about a first-time user coupon. Where do you even put that in when you're booking?

R Renee Beaumont 1 month ago
It's usually at the very end when you're checking out. There should be a little box for a promo code or discount.

yeah, just one code per booking though. don't try to stack 'em, it won't work.

How's the cancellation policy if something unexpected comes up? Like, if I book a class for next month and then can't make it, am I just out the money?

C Cody P. 1 month ago
It depends on the experience and how far out you cancel. I think there's a window where you get a full refund, but closer to the date it might be partial or nothing. Check the specific listing's policy.

Yeah, each experience usually has its own policy, but they are pretty clear about it when you book. Most are pretty reasonable if you cancel with enough notice.

My friend and I are looking at a sushi making class in NYC, but she's super strict about gluten-free. Do the hosts usually accommodate dietary restrictions if you ask?

F Faith Beaumont 1 month ago
From my experience, totally! I've had hosts be really good about vegan options. Just message them beforehand, usually through the platform, and they'll confirm if they can make it work.

Yep, they usually ask you about that during the booking process or the host will reach out. Had a friend with a nut allergy and it was handled fine.

Hey guys, thinking about booking a cooking class for my sister's birthday, but I've never used Eatwith before. Is it reliable? Like, are the hosts actual good cooks or just randos?

N Noor 2 months ago
Yeah, I did a pasta making class in Rome last year and it was legit. Our host was super experienced, felt like a real local experience not just a tourist trap.

I've used it a few times, mostly for dinner parties. Never had a bad experience. They seem to vet the hosts pretty well, and you can usually see reviews from other guests.
